Assessment of Excess Mortality and Household Income in Rural Bangladesh During the COVID-19 Pandemic in 2020

In this study of households in rural Bangladesh, all-cause mortality was lower in 2020 compared with 2019. Restrictions imposed by the government may have limited the scale of the COVID-19 pandemic in rural areas, although economic data suggest that these restrictions need to be accompanied by expanded welfare programs

Application of Urban Design Principles to Develop a Self-Contained Residential Unit that Shape the Urban Form: An Approach towards Neighborhood Development at Meherchandi, Rajshahi

The 180-acre Meherchandi neighborhood houses 61,485 people with a gross density of 341.58 persons/acre and net density of 597.23 persons/acre. High, upper-middle, and lower-middle income groups live in 102 acres of residential plots, while the rest is used for facilities, greenery, and recreation. A well-planned road network ensures accessibility, with all essential amenities within a 10-minute walk.

Formal Regionalization of Bangladesh: Dependency on Agro-based Industry

Bangladesh’s agro-based industries, vital to the economy and employing 75% of rural people, face challenges from natural disasters. This study analyzes regional dependency on agro-based industries using factors like industry count, workforce, cultivated area, and population. Results, including a GIS map, provide insights for sustainable agricultural planning and future research.
